Just heard about this on the Jeremy Vine Show. It turns out that we live in a country where people will get involved, and stand up for what’s right.
Three women - apparantly strangers to eachother - tackled a runaway criminal who was successfully out-running the local police. Caught on CCTV (Big Brother IS watching you in the UK), one blocked his escape, another hit him with her bag, and then a third joined the fray. This was too much for the runner, who changed direction, only to be grabbed and held by a van driver ’till the police arrived.
And like all real super-heros, the three women melted away into the crowds to assume their cover identities
