Back again - some cathcing up to do!
I’ve been away visiting relatives in Wales and Kent. With one thing and another, I had no internet access for over a week. But I have been writing, and have lots to talk about. I’ll do this in several focused posts, rather than one long ramble.
One thing I do have to get off my chest right now
though is to congratulate El ZappoMan on his astonishing 5,000 bike miles last year. This is what I like - people setting alarmingly scary goals, & then achieving them by keeping focused and putting in the effort when they have to - even if the odds (and the weather) seem to be conspiring them. Rumour has it that this year, he’s getting a kryptonite saddle for his bike to make it even more of a challenge. An example to us all!

Thanks for the shout out and the suggestion on a new logo!
I laughed out loud when I read this post.
Karl, I’m glad I’ve inspired you.
I like your approach of breaking the challenge down into smaller chunks.
My buddy Phil is also trying to increase his mileage this year. He’s decided to take on 4,000 miles as his goal. But he only cycles, so he’s not distracted by running and swimming like you and I are.
Sorry, somehow this last post ended up here, when I tried to post it to your other post about your mileage goal… feel free to delete these.
