Spin Class Trainers - How Do They Do It?

Spin machine, which I found on a Dutch site that I can't readI had my second spin session this morning - 45 minutes of sprints & stand-ups. Seeing as I’m a bit of a teachers’ pet, I always take a place at the front in classes (makes it easier to leave the apple on teacher’s desk . . . )

So anyway, I’m reasonably fit, but by 20 minutes in, I was sweating like a greased pig, and starting to really feel my age.

Yet I noticed that our trainer today (a young slip of a girl - but then they all look young these days), seemed barely warmed up by the end of the session, and capable of holding a rational conversation, while I was a total mess.

How on earth do they do it?

I have had those same thoughts during spin class. To make it worse, I have been in spin class with zappoman many times. He always looks like he’s happy to be suffering. The animal!!!

At least there isn’t a head wind in the spin class…

Ah, but you can make it more fun by imagining that there’s a head wind and cranking up the resistance to make it feel real . . . I also find it helps to focus on one or two other riders, and visualise that you’re keeping up with them on the road - I even find myself imagining road features & leaning into non-existant bends a little.
