I’m Only Happy When It Rains
“I feel good when things are going wrong
I only listen to a sad, sad song”
Actually I’m doing my best not to listen to music like this, which although it’s great stuff, can have rather a dampening effect on one’s outlook!
Anyway, yesterday it was tipping down. I mean really raining cats & dogs. Or as the french would say, raining stair-rods. Perfect cycling weather . . . provided you don’t mind getting wet!
I had to visit my client in Walker, and intended to go the long way round, to make the mileage 25 instead of 17 miles. But the clock was against me (as was the WIND), so I ended up not having the time for this. I was riding Wilf (sturdy commuting bike), as he’s got a full set of mudguards, and the luggage capacity of a C130. So I wasn’t going to get too badly soaked from below, and could carry a full change of clothes. Shame I forgot to pack dry shoes though . . .

If you are happy when it rains, you should come visit us in Seattle! You’d feel right at home.
Any time - just send the tickets to the usual address.
Oddly enough, on the West coast of England is Cumbria’s Lake District. Very popular and touristy . . . but people often complain about the rainy weather. Well, duh! What do they think it is that fills all those lakes?
Sorry, started to get a bit ranty there!
