When The Wind Blows . . .
. . . cycle in the gym instead of on the road.
When I checked the weather forecast for the week on Saturday evening, I realised that I was going to struggle this week - I had to get at least 80 miles on the bike, but the forecast was for gales and rain, starting on Sunday evening. This was why I headed out on Sunday morning to get in 30-odd miles, even though I wasn’t really in the mood.
With feeling ill last night (& still feeling a little unusual right now), and a meeting planned for Teesside this afternoon, I couldn’t cycle to work today either. So I headed off for the Tuesday morning spin class instead - it’s 45 minutes, and only counts as 15 miles . . . but I need the mileage.
They’ve re-arranged the bikes in the spin studio into a circle, rather than ‘theatre style’. I’m not sure if I like that - it’s bad enough looking at my reflection in the mirror, but watching someone else suffer . . . though fortunately there were only 8 in the class, so things weren’t at all crowded. I’d forgotten how much fun spin can be - not to mention how much hard work. By the end of it I was feeling pretty burned, so maybe I am actually ill, and it’s not just man-flu!

Cor, i don’t know how you manage it sometimes. I Struggle just running around during the warm up for my handstand classes!!! Let alone with a cold.
This week i have been changing my diet from vegetarian to vegan so i definitely know how you feel about wind blowing……….pull my finger……
Oh…….you don’t that kind of wind!!!!
Hope you’re feeling better soon! It’s interesting how we all seem to notice the onset of illness by feeling ‘off’ in our workouts. I wonder now how I used to know (in my pre-fitness life) that I was about to get sick..
Also ‘circle’ arragment for bikes in spin class? EEEWW! _not_ a fan of that at all.
