When You’re Feeling Blue . . .

Beer in Bath - myspacantics.comGo for a swim. For some reason I got my own personal raincloud following me around today, and by the evening, I just wanted to slouch in front of the TV and have a few beers.

But tonight’s Thursday Night. Which means a swim session with the NE31 Tri club. And just as I’d resigned myself to scoring a really poor week . . . the alarm on my Treo went off, telling me that it was time to go to the pool. So like Pavlov’s dog, I went and got my swim bag (ready packed . . . ), got in the car, and drove to the pool.

And I’m really glad that I did. Highlights include doing 50m repeats with stroke counts (and I rock at stroke count - 37-40 strokes for 50m), and chatting to people who’d recently done amazing things .  . . like the [UK] coast to coast in a single day, or IronMan Switzerland.

Finished the session, and felt much better . . . swimming is the new beer.

Are you sure that the raincloud wasn’t real? I just read where the British National Championships have been cancelled due to flooding.

You mention going to the pool, could you have just swam out your front door instead?

Very nearly - the bike miles this week have been really hard to come by, as I have a phobia about underwater cycling!
