Easy, Easy Jogging Sessions

Not sure if this really counts as training at all - HR struggling to get above 90. But it’s pleasant to jog along chatting to Shana, and I don’t have any running logged this week. So I thought what the heck - I’ll put it in the log anyway. The 25 minutes refers to 2 x 12.5 minute sessions.

I’m such a fraud.

10 min miles are like my average runs! I’m so jealous it’s just an easy jog for you! Good luck with your tri’s - I might look into those someday!

Kate - I’ve always been the twitchy, fidgety kid, who just burned fuel and maintained a base level of fitness that meant I could slack off for a year, then have a few weeks of hell & be right back where I’d always been.

But your story is one that I really look up to, because it’s all about change, and deciding what you want to be, and then making it happen. And stuff like that makes me believe I can change too, and do things I’d never dreamed possible.

It isn’t where you are, but how far you’ve come on the journey that counts - as it says right at the top of your blog, “There is no telling how many miles you will have to run while chasing a dream”.

Oh, and finally . . . we were only doing 1 1/4 miles in each session in TOTAL. A little further, and things might have started feeling less like an ‘easy jog’!

How is Shana doing? You can count these work outs as active recovery for yourself.

Pretty well, I think. She was a little sore on the quads on Wednesday, but almost ran up the path to press the doorbell on Thursday at 06:30 (thankfully I got there before her thumb - Wife is forgiving, but not that forgiving). She ran the whole distance, and we talked about going a little further in future, but with a run/walk plan - seemed to go down well.

I’ve let her off training tomorrow morning, as tonight she has a work ’social’ evening, and will also be dropping in on the bookclub that Wife belongs to. So we’re doing Sunday instead!
