Swim-Bike: Part III - RUN

OK, so this is now starting to look like I’m not taking it easy anymore.

But the run was only as a cool down . . . though I did go off for the first 800m or so at kinda race pace (oops). But  then I got a stitch, which reminded me that perhaps I should just calm down a little.

Actually in my last race, I had the same sort of pain. I think it’s something to do with drinking on the bike - in the 40 minutes, I’d drunk about 500ml (100ml every 10 minutes, plus a gulp as I brought the bike back indoors), and drink + run always seems to create this problem.

Maybe I’d be better off drinking a little more on my 10 minute marks on the bike, but stopping 15 minutes or so early, to  allow it to filter though a little before shaking it up?

Anyway, I got home, showered & washed my wetsuit with plenty of time to read Daughter’s bedtime story. I’d done most of a full race distance, and felt pretty good . . . we’ll see how that shoulder is tomorrow though! Hopefully it’s ready to do it’s stuff - I’ve missed the last two swim sessions with NE31, and don’t want to make it three . . . and I’m running with Shana tomorrow morning. Time for bed.
