Two More Animal Videos
You’ve probably already seen these, from this year’s Tour De France. But Bill’s comment on the leaping deer video I posted reminded me of how precarious the balance on a bike is.
Put it this way, I’ve had similar experiences to Bill. In the middle of no-where in Northumbria, I’ve found myself chasing sheep down the road, yelling at them to just go left . . . or right . . . . into the field, instead of through my front wheel. It’s only when you see what relatively small dogs can do to a cyclist’s day that you realise how serious any collision on a bike could be.
Put it this way, it’s a completely different scenario having an accident when you’re out training, miles from anywhere, compared with when there’s a full team, support car, new bike, doctor, etc, etc, only five seconds behind you!
Anyway, here are the videos:
What I really love in the first one is the British commentator, who repeatedly assures us that the dog is OK. Oh, yes, we love our animals here!
