OK, So It’s Not Autumn YET
A run to the lighthouse and back . . . when I went out this morning there was
some of that autumnal chill in the air again.
So for this evening’s run, I opted for the tights to keep my pipe-cleaner skinny legs warm. And didn’t bother to take any fluids with me.
Doh! big mistake - after only a mile I was starting to think that actually come to think of it, I was thirsty before I set off. After another 800 yards, I was wondering how hot you have to be before you pass out. At the turnaround point, I took a couple of minutes to stand in the breeze and cool down a little. I wondered about taking my track tights off for the run back, but thought [another] indecent exposure conviction would be one too many.
500 yards from home, I came across Wife, Huge Dalmatian and Daughter out for a walk. What a welcome excuse to stop and walk with them - back the way I’d come, with Daughter desperate for me to run while she rode her bike. Eventually I gave in, and she was my pace maker for those last 500 yards.
She’s just come into my study eating one of our home made frozen fruit lollies (juice some strawberries, oranges and apples, and then freeze. Works well with yoghurt added in too) . . . I think there’s one of those in the freezer with my name on it!
