Warwick Tri - Run
So just the run left to do. Two laps of Warwick School’s playing fields, with around 400m on pavement around the outside of their grounds.
Not much to say about this really . . . except that discipline at the school must be pretty strict. At the top corner of the course, next to the tennis courts, they’ve got an assault course. More than this, it’s immediately behind the targets for the archery range.
If you’re naughty, I guess you get to spend half an hour or so on the assault course. And if you’re really naughty, you get to do this during the beginners’ archery class
Running’s my strongest tri event, so I overtook a whole bunch of people, and got back to the finish with an overall time of 1:09:55.
But where was Tall Friend? He should have been through T2 before I finished, and I could see that his bike still wasn’t racked. Mrs Tall Friend explained that there’d been some delay with his wave’s start. And sure enough, about ten minutes after I finished, he came through T2, and off for the run. Lots of cheering as he set off, and some goading as he went past after the first lap.
According to his Polar, his finish time was 1:07:[No seconds displayed], so I think he beat me this time by around a minute or two . . . . about as long as I’d spent in the traffic jam in the pool. Grrrr!
But that’s the way it works out some times - I think he must have had a flying bike split, & who’s to say that I would have done better with clearer water?
Workout:
- Type: Run

- Time: 10:40:00
- Total Time: 00:22:00.00

That would suck if his margin was less than the pool traffic jam! Grrrrr! indeed!
