Strength Training
I’m starting to put together my winter training plan now. And that’s going to mean no more bunking off from the torture machines in the gym for strength training.
Today was my first session - light weights and relatively few reps . . . but I can already feel that I’m going to be sore tomorrow!
Workout:
- Type: Strength Training
- Date: 09/24/2007
- Time: 07:15:00
- Total Time: 00:30:00.00

Those darn weights.
I always feel drained after strength training, even if it wasn’t that hard.
Gotta agree - especially with my ‘muscles’ that’re more like over-cooked spaghetti!
Maybe this is a clue as to why both of us are distance athletes not sprinters.
Oops. That “anonymous” is me. Not sure how that happened.
And remember it doesn’t always have to be with the torture machines. Some days are best using just body weight.
Cardano - you called me an ‘athlete’ - thank you! Phil Sabin wrote an interesting piece about this , which at the time I mostly disagreed with.
But reading the “A” word addressed to me from someone else sounds about right, and a great compliment (so thank you, again). . . but using it about myself seems all wrong. ‘M not at all sure what that’s about!
Bill - I don’t feel as sore as I was expecting today. Even so, though I know you’re just trying to offer encouragement . . . it’s not making me feel any better. You seem to be saying that there are a whole list of new, exciting and as-yet unexperienced ways for me to get this pain!
