At Every Machine I Feel Like A Wimp

Another strength training session this evening, while Daughter was having her swimming lesson.

It’s odd, but every time I get on a machine, I have to do the usual resets on the seat positions, but I also do a dramatic change to the weights, taking loads off. The programme that the trainer at the gym put together for me is a series of 12 reps on pretty much everything, but with pretty much minimal weights too.

On some of the exercises (anything leg-based), it’s as if there’s no weight there at all, though I do feel it by the end of the set. And on the upper body stuff, I’m quite embarrassed at how hard it is.

But I guess there’s nothing for it - just grin and bear it, while I take my medicine.

Sounds similar to what I do at the gym. I do 12 reps, 3 sets of (what it seems like lower weights than everyone else!) and by the 9-10 rep I’m feeling it.

Every-body is different. It may just be that you are working out right after all the meat-heads and not the ladies or the kids at the gym! LOL Find a lady or teen to follow and you’ll do higher weights and feel like a champion, hahaha

Oh, but I have been following skinny little ladies around the gym. Uh, that sounds a lot worse than it did in my head. :-p
