Do You Own A Camera?

After reading about Jeff’s ride at the weekend, and looking at his photos (great, great photos, taken with a cellphone!), I wonder if this is the time of year when the best photos of wherever you run / cycle / jog / walk are out there just waiting to be taken. I mean, just take a look at the photos Adrian took at the weekend, or those from Bill a couple of weeks ago.

OK, so Bill’s are just too arty for most of us to live up to, but I’d love to see the story of your favourite route told in photos - whether it’s a bad-assed training route that hurts all the way, or your easy cycle into work.

So this week, please take your camera with you and click, click, click away!

  1. I love doing this. It makes me look at my route differently. What is it that draws me to this ride and how can I communicate that to others? I don’t pretend to be any good at it, but I do have fun.

  2. Do I own a camera? Do I own a camera? Which one? ;)

Arty? No need to throw insults around here. Hehe.

This sounds like fun. I’ll have to pull on the camera for this one, although I don’t think I’ll be riding soon. A visit to the doctor this morning and a bag full of meds may see to that.

How about a run course instead?

  3. Sounds like a fun idea.

  4. My problem is I can picture the photo’s I want to take but then they’re gone as I’m riding along. I had to stop and circle back to take the bridge picture and that was kind of hard for me. I had some great shots of leaves on the roads available but was kind of in the groove and didn’t want to fiddle with taking off the full finger cloves to get the phone back out of the zip-lock bag that keeps it dry…

  5. I remember the great pics that Adrian took of his commute last year… and I kept thinking, how’d he get those shots? I wanted to attach my camera to my handlebars and just take pictures from the vantage point of my bike…

But seeing how my commute killed my cycling computer with all the bumps, I fear it would absolutely kill a camera.

But… I do like the idea… just need to work out some details.

  6. I see some pretty spectacular scenery when I’m riding and I even have an under seat bag I could put on the bike to carry a camera…now I just need to remember to take it with me!
