Cold Weather Clothes
I got cold last night, and decided that it was time to get some more winter clothes.
In previous years I’ve not done anything like the amount of exercise and training that I’m doing now. And frankly I don’t have enough cold weather training gear to remain hygienic, let alone fragrant. So it was time for a trip in to Start Fitness in Newcastle, where I picked up:
- A Nike Handwarmer top. It has sleeves that are . . . well, too long, with holes for your thumbs to go through, and mitten-like pockets at the end of the sleeves too. And it’s made from warm, air-trapping material, which is very day-glo and covered in reflective tape.
- A pair of Asics Kobe winter track tights. They’re like normal track tights, but with a fleecy lining. These are just so wonderful that I may never ever take them off.
- Three pairs of Start Fitness’ own brand, ‘More Mile’ London running socks. For the first time this year, I got a pair of proper running socks. Padding in all the right places, left and right foot shapes, and the right kind of material. Real running socks used to seem like a luxury . . . but they’re now on my list of essential items.
Maybe now people won’t run away from me so fast . . .
