The Stripper

Fan Dance - image from rootmag.typepad.comI went running with Shana this morning. OK, so I know that I’m officially signed off by the Doc, but I took it really easy, and I honestly think that the cold morning air did me more good than harm.

Speaking of the cold, Shana was somewhat layered up - hat, gloves, windstopper, etc. But there was more to this than meets the eye. About a mile from home, she suddenly had to stop running as a piece of silky black clothing slid out from under the windstopper & down her legs (how she didn’t trip, I’ll never know).

My mind’s initial reaction was that the elastic in her track tights had broken . . . then I saw that these were still in place. WTF?!! Had her knickers fallen down? But wait . . . unless she was wearing them (like certain people from Krypton that I could mention) over the top of her tights, there’s just no way that could happen.

Much laughter (and general embarrassment all round - I’m a married man, and frankly didn’t know where to look) (actually, I do know where to look, it’s just that I’m married to another woman) , it turned out that she’d put a silk vest thing on as one of her [many] layers, but getting dressed had forgotten to put her arms into it. And it had finally shaken loose & tried to trip her up.

That’s her story anyway.

    That is hilarious!

Sounds like you’re listening to your body (as well as the doc) and giving it what it needs. Glad the outdoors was good to you.

    Hehe.

Sounds like a convo I heard about 1/3 of a mile into this Saturday’s Half Marathon.

A lady mentioned out loud to her friend that she had just got over an illness in which she lost 10lbs. The problem that she was having was that now her running shorts were too big and were already slipping. Of course, everyone had to have a look. ;)
