Pantomime Horse
On Saturday the pistes were all really crunchy - a slight thaw on Friday night had been followed by a re-freeze. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be a problem . . . but there were also a whole bunch of day-tripping skiers around, going at it like lunatics. So VonSmallHaussen and I just did a couple of easy runs.
It was a good job that I had my camera with me, as Saturday seemed to be a fancy dress day. We caught up with a bunch of pantomime characters, including two guys skiing in a pantomime horse costume. This just has to be seen to be believed:
Also, it was interesting to film VonSmallHaussen’s skiing - much improved after a week on the snow. At the beginning of the week, she looked like this:
and after a week’s practice, like this:
I only hope that I’ve come on that well in six days!

You know the horse was your favorite part!
“Oh no it isn’t!” (That’s a bit of an ‘in’ gag for anyone who grew up in theUK / Oz / Canada & went to the panto as a kid.)
Actually the skiing pantomime horse was pretty cool. They were only going down a blue piste, but it was pretty steep in places, and they still managed to hold it together.
oooh - definitely an improvement - although still knock of knees. Must sort that out when we ski next which is when exactly?
The vid of the panto horse makes me smile every time I watch it - it was such a great day for dressing up.
