OMG - I’ve Bought Another Bike!

Oops! And I said that I wouldn’t - not this year anyway. But there you go - that’s another New Year’s Resolution busted.

Or is it? This isn’t my usual sort of bike. It’s got 700 x 35 wheels, a rack at the back AND one on the front to take a basket, a Nexus three-speed hub, a chain guard, and weighs in at slightly more than would be considered svelte.

It’s also LILAC.

OK, it’s not for me - it’s a bike for Wife. Thanks to the bargains to be had on Ebay, now all three of us can do things like heading up to the lighthouse for summer picnics, or down to Tynemouth for the Farmers’ Market. And Wife can take books back to library in style.

All these things will be true, just as soon as this winter’s over with. In the meantime, I have a little project to complete - figuring out how to safely and securely store our growing family of bikes in our tiny back yard.
