Terminator Spotted In Whitley Bay
I’ve seen this guy several times in the last week. He’s quite a big bloke, riding a beaten up mountain bike, but wearing full-on winter gear. Long tights, coat (with several layers of padding underneath by the look of it. I mean clothing padding), and a balaclava pulled up to cover most of his face.
The whole image was reminding me of someone else, but I just couldn’t figure out who. Then it came to me - he’s just like the Terminator, Cromartie, from the Sarah Connor Chronicles. You know - when he was in his in-between phase, having been blown up, had his biological covering incinerated, and had to re-assemble himself at a scrap yard, but in dire need of having a new body grown over the metal endo-skeleton. So he was walking around dressed just like this guy in Whitley Bay, looking for an expert in plastic surgery to rebuild his skin & lend him a pair of eyes.
I managed to snatch a video clip with my phone of our local Terminator today, but oddly enough, I can’t find any pictures of Cromartie in his between-skins phase on the internet. I guess Skynet’s erased them all.

That was fun! Pretty good video production. How did you do the terminator monitor screen part?
?
It’s what I see in my head all the time.
Once I’d got the original movie file, it was all put together using Keynote. The HUD was done using multiple versions of a still from the movie file, which I then masked to give the focus area’s shape, and the text is just a ‘typewriter’ animation, like you’d do in PowerPoint. I exported from Keynote as a Quicktime movie, and then used iMovie HD to add the soundtrack, do the final sizing & export.
