Run Fat Boy, Run
Wife got me a present at the weekend - the DVD of Run Fat Boy, Run. This is a great film about a guy who blags himself an entry to a marathon with only three weeks to go ’till the race. He works really hard, and runs the race. Kind of. I mean, we all know that it takes at least four weeks training to run a marathon, don’t we?
It’s actually a film about never giving up, and working to achieve your goals. Great inspirational stuff like that. Except it was made by Simon Pegg - the man behind Hot Fuzz and one of my all-time favourite TV series, Spaced (trailer here), which is soon to be available in the USA. So the humour’s fairly liberally spread over the whole thing, and occasionally a little gross. Made me laugh, anyway.
In other news, this morning was a speed session for Shana, which for me means taking it easy enough that I don’t strain anything when I’m just over a week from my ‘A’ race this year, while at the same time working hard enough that I get to post it as a workout. We did a mile warm-up, and then 3 x 1000m, with 2-3 minutes recovery between each, and then a mile time trial to finish.
Workout:
- Type: Run
- Date: 06/24/2008
- Time: 08:34:31
- Total Time: 00:40:00.00
- Distance: 4 miles
- Average Pace: 10:00/mile

10 days to go - how exciting!
Good luck. Hope everything goes to plan.
