Cleveland Steelman - Summary

. . . a reproduction from an email summary I sent to a friend this evening:

I finished with a time of 6hrs 2 mins - and not in last place. Splits:

  • Swim (2000m) 55mins - last out of the water :-(
  • T1: 2:30 or so
  • Bike (58 miles) 3h 22mins. Freezing cold rain for all but the first 15 miles.
  • T2 30 seconds or so
  • Run (12 miles) 1h40 mins or so. The pace was equal to my half
marathon PR from 9 years ago. :-)

Out of the 199 starters, I think I was about 185ish.

Today, I feel a little sore & despite 11 hrs sleep, a little tired.
But other than that basically OK - even wondering about cycling to
my meeting tomorrow & going to the tri club’s swim session…
