Push-Up Challenge - Day one

So you do five sets, with a minute’s rest between each. Based on my initial test, I did 10, 10, 8, 6, and max (at least 7). For that last one, I managed 8 - like I’ve said before, above the waist, I have the physique of the kid from the Charles Atlas ad before the seven-day miracle course.

And after? I felt really quite unusual - like I’d done A LOT. Right now, a hundred looks like an awful lot of press-ups!

    Karl -

I used to be the same way. Could swim a mile but couldn’t do 10 measly pushups.

While doing the pushups themselves is a great way to build the ability, it’s a slow process. Try chair dips, which focus on the tricep and will add a huge boost to your pushup count. I went from 8-10 to 50-55 in a month’s time.
