Fancy a Short Run?

This is just a short post to wish Bill Anders (who also blogs his photos here) a happy 40th birthday. He’s on ‘holiday’ at the moment, courtesy of the US Army Air Force in Sunny Iraq. And to celebrate his birthday, he’s going for a little run:

Forty miles.

In a country where the weather can only be described as ‘hot’.

Good luck Bill - you’ve done the training, so you don’t really need ‘luck’ - just stick to your run plan, take your fluids, salts & fuel, and have a rest once you’ve finished!

    Thank you so much, Karl.

Just waking up from my pre-run nap. I’ve just got to load up the fuel belt and water bottles and I’ll be on my way.

Hot being relative. It’s relatively cool here now. Currently sitting at 88F (31C), some 20F (11C) cooler than it was for any of my long runs this past summer. And it should dip down to about 75F (24C) before sunrise, so it’ll be downright nippy for me. :)

I’ll let you know how it goes!

Happy Birthday to Bill. Nice to hear from you. Hope things are going well in the UK. We had a good tri today. A little bit of wet roads, but not too bad. I’m still waiting for the official results. Relays are a lot of fun!
