Angry Kid
This via Cyclelicio.us - an Aardman Animation (the folks who kept winning the Oscar for Best Animation a few years back) of Angry Kid on his bike:
Kinda funny. Till you see it happening for real. It’s easy for riding assertively to spill over into the kind of “F*** you” aggressive riding caricatured in the film. There’s a big difference - which side of the line are you on?

Thanks for the link love, Karl.
I’m cooperative and courteous in general, but will assert myself where necessary for my safety. If there are cars following I’ll even pull over them. I’m not sure I agree that riding assertively easily leads to being a jackass like the Angry Kid, though I don’t have any real data to back that up. Vehicular cycling proponents, for example, tend to be critical of Critical Mass rides, and the CM people seem to be those who advocate the most for separate facilities, but again that’s just my supposition and I could be completely wrong.
Hmm… It depends. I try and stay on the ‘Vehicular cycling’ side of things, but there have been days when I snarled at a driver, and regretted it later. It’s oh, so tempting to be like this, especially with mercedes drivers driving down car free streets, but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
felt super tired up until weds. then fast run thur pm. rest fri. now this crap run today. pretty lethargic. fine line I’m walking here; I don’t want to go back to the place I was today until _after_ the next race.
