You Mean Beer Isn’t A Sports Drink?
To celebrate having got my run yesterday done before 10pm, I had a couple of beers last night. And a nip of that nice Talisker. Oh, and forgot that for the rest of the day, all I’d had to drink was two cups of coffee in the morning, and a cup of tea in the afternoon.
So although I didn’t get swinging-from-the-chandaliers drunk by any stretch of the imagination last night, I did wake up with a sore head today.
But that’s no excuse here - an hour sitting reading to Daughter, followed by half a pint of watered-down grapefruit juice set me more or less straight. I went out and did two two-mile loops - one south along the sea front, with Huge Dalmatian (allowing for his dogginess, and stopping to admire the frozen boating lake, we averaged 13 minutes a mile . . . ), and then one North to the War Memorial and back - a much more respectable 7:20/mile.
So now I feel a whole lot better (must be the bitterly cold weather that’s fixed me), and it’s time for a coffee.
Coffee IS a sports recovery drink, isn’t it?
