Strangest Looking Bikes I Ever Saw!

I popped into our local B&Q store yesterday to look at materials for constructing the tandem’s cargo module. I had to laugh at their cycle parking facilities:

Maybe these are all cargo bikes? But I couldn’t see any pedals on them!

You could of course think that the sign’s just in the wrong place, and it should have been 4′ to the left. Nope - just out of shot are a whole bunch of flat-bed trollies for heavy items.

Still, at least that fencing was good and sturdy for locking my bike up to.

My local Aldi and Lidl don’t have any cycle parking and it’s great watching people try and park their bikes outside when the obvious trolley park spots have run out on the days they sell their cycling gear. I thought this might just be because they are old stores but a new purpose built Lidl is the same and the Aldi just had a refit. I’m pretty sure my local B&Q doesn’t even have a sign so you’re one up on me.

Our local Aldi and Lidl do have cycle parking. I’m pretty sure it’s a planning requirement for shops. I can’t think of any shop here that doesn’t have cycle parking near the entrance.

Have you ever ridden one down a steep hill while sitting inside?

Great fun, although the brakes leave a bit to be desired.

Hey, those might actually be considered transportation to some. I used to see them sitting all around a neighborhood near a Target. Apparently, it was a precurser to the bike sharing programs, except that when people made it to their destination, they just left them on the corner.
