Friday Caption Contest

This week we return to National Cycle Network Route 1, and its interesting feature just south of Ashington that I encountered on Monday:

Basically a first-rate bike path ends abruptly, forcing you to take a really annoying series of mile wide zig-zags to continue the journey South. The more foolhardy get lost in the woods while doing this.

So for this week’s Caption Contest, your task is to come up with appropriate signage to advise cyclists what they’re supposed to do at this point. I’ll be awarding extra marks for anyone that can get the phrase “For your convenience” into their slogan. Marks will also be awarded for sarcasm, especially if it highlights the superiority of motorised transport over bikes.

As always there’s a prize beyond mere greed available - the potential praise and admiration of your peers around the world. So get cracking, and leave your caption below.

    Could be
    a) a sound installation with Tom Tom woman laughing manically while repeating ‘turn around where possible’

    b) “CAUTION. For your own convenience, this road south has been blocked lest you become some sort of Soft Southern Bastard who wants to wear a coat in November. Or sleeves. And drink lager. DON’T GO THERE”

or (and this one is the most likely)
    c) some sort of self-congratulatory sign from the EU/local council/quango explaining how they funded this path in order to tackle child obesity…
