Damned Suitcases

Amongst my various searches of the Creative Commons pictures on Flickr this evening, I found this one from Austria:

Apparently, it’s a warning for cyclists to watch out for giant suitcases. Or a warning that giants shouldn’t leave there handbags in the street.

Probably. Or something like that anyway.

Actually, on the subject of Creative Commons pictures on Flickr, I think the default setting is "Copyright, All Rights Reserved". If you’re a professional photographer, and your uploads on Flickr are your work, maybe that’s the right way to go. But if you’re not, maybe you’d like to think about setting your photos to have a default Creative Commons license - like the above photo by John.ehr (thank you so much!). Just go to:

  • You
  • Your Account
  • Privacy & Permissions tab

to change how the default’s set. If you later have a special picture that you upload, you can still set it to "all rights reserved". Simples.
