Running Out of Excuses

I’ve got lapse. Very very lapse.

These posts by Andy In Germany and Imagine No Cars reminded me that principals are actually important. More important than convenience.

[Whining voice] Somehow that ride to work (15-18 miles) is just too far. Then there are all those local trips - just a few miles, but always in a hurry.

That steel box outside is sitting there, with it’s siren call.

So tempting.

So warm.

So dry.

So unaffected by the wind.

So totally having "The Count of Monte Cristo" audio book (£0.99 £5.99 and still an absolute steal from iTunes - FIFTY hours’ of book!!) ready to play while I drive.

Time to change - back to what I was not so long ago. Time to use the Power Of Karl to get around a whole lot more than I have these past few months. It started this evening, and took just 15 minutes to get Daisy the Tandem back on the road in time to go and fetch Daughter from her Stage class.

The back light wasn’t working, but fortunately it still had the 60 LEDs from the Dunwich Dynamo, and the batteries seem far from flat.

And you know what?

It was far, far more fun than driving ever would have been - even though it was windy and raining.
