That’s Me On The Radio
It’s a strange job that I do. Today I was at BBC Radio Newcastle for a bit of chat about triathlons. It’d been organised by Keith from Highlights PR , who does the business for our team of enterprise coaches .
I would have cycled into the studio, but I had good reason not to:
- For some reason I had a head-ache. I have no idea why .
- I was tired, after an apparently late night.
- Yesterday afternoon it was just above freezing here, and snowed big cotton-wool flakes of wet snow that turned to slush when they hit the ground . . . and promptly re-froze when night fell. I don’t do riding on ice, as I tend to find that cycling is better with the rubber side of the bike below me rather than above or adjacent.
Anyway, it was a brief 10-minute slot, where I got to talk about being a business coach, what’s involved in triathlon, and getting as many of my clients mentioned as I could (Tri Northumberland , Carve Photography , and The Old Ship in Newbiggin). If you’re that interested, the show’s on BBC’s ‘Listen Again’ service for the next week. I’m on the Sue Sweeney programme from 1:11:00 .

I Listened to the interview yesterday, well done.
Great pic. Reliving your youth were we?
Wow, very cool! I can’t say I’ve ever spoken on radio.
Trinorthumberland - anything to get some extra publicity for a great series of triathlons taking place in Northumberland in 2010!
Von - Yep. And it felt surprisingly comfortable. I nearly went to work like it today.
Andreas - very nerve-racking, as it was live. One of my favourite Viz characters is Roger Mellie, and I had to really try hard not to copy his “Hello, good evening and bollocks” line.
