Yep. And then we can put all this silliness behind us.
On the plus side, despite its best efforts to rain or snow on me, all I got while I was out were a few stray snowflakes. Is this actually my first dry ride of the year?

Running last night in the universally crappy weather, I was listening to my iPod (also keeps the cold out of my ears - I don’t like ear ache!). It was the usual selection of songs for training, and just perfect to help me visualise the Ironman race. For big, long races like this, having...

Bah. Howling gale from the North East. Raining cats & dogs. And just above freezing.
The wind was such that the full set of waterproofs I was wearing gave up the fight within just over a mile. And after that there was another twelve miles of soaking slog. Highlights included my Sealskinz GoreTex...

Whoever said that all the deep coal mines in England were closed in the 80s & 90s? There are still loads of them.
You’ll find them at random locations in the roads of North Tyneside, Newcastle and Northumberland. As well as speleology, some of them also offer excellent opportunities for cave diving.

Good thing I found this out now - otherwise I could have ended up training...

I found this via Gwadzilla - an ingenious way to prevent punctures:
Fill them with 2.5lbs of marijuana
Yep. I reckon that’d prevent a puncture from slowing you down too much. Though there’d be other problems - the extra weight would be OK on the flat, but on a hilly / twisty ride? And...

Another morning, another run - my short run for the week, which is now eight miles. And yet again, I had the experience of running on fresh snow, while the wind was throwing more of the stuff into my face.
I could say, "Bah!" to this, but it was quite refreshing. And when the sun...

After Sunday’s ride I was cold and tired. So on Monday morning, the duvet was far too nice to get out of, and I FAILED to make it to the early bird swim session.
But not to worry - with careful planning, and a pool that’s just five minutes from the office, I can fit...

Did I get your attention with that title?
OK, so there’s a lot of rubbish written about cycling - stuff about how all cyclists jump red lights, how it’s really, really dangerous, and if you believe the Daily Mail amongst others , it’s a sure-fire route to erectile dysfunction and significantly reduced sperm count. Apparently,
…competitors...
