Training Makes A Difference To Running
Last night was the 5th in this season’s North Shields Poly Grand Prix hadicap race series. Somehow, our team was in first place, but only leading on a technicality - we had the same number of points as the second place team.
So there was everything to run for, and pretty much all of us had actually done some training this time. Our initial guestimate is that the whole team finished in the top 40 - hopefully enough to put us well ahead!
I had a great run - overtaking others all the way, and only getting passed by three other runners myself. I did the first mile in 5:23, which is just outrageously fast. In my defence, there was a pretty strong tailwind for the first half of the course.
