Counting strokes

I did an extra swim session yesterday morning, practicing getting my strokes nice and smooth, really concentrating on rolling around to breathe, keeping my body level, and alternating drills with full-stroke swimming.

It was quite good fun, and I even played a round of ‘pool golf’ - seeing how few strokes I could use to get the length of the pool, while still being recognisably swimming. I did the first length in 13 strokes, and managed to take one off from each of the following three lengths. Considering that my regular count is about 18, the fact that I can do a length in just 10 strokes says a lot for the inefficiency of my regular swimming.

Hmmmm….
