Murphys’ Law Of Rain Clouds

So here’s the thing:

  • You check the weather forecast before setting off for the ride to the station.
  • It says there’ll be a light tailwind, scattered clouds, but basically sunny.
  • You look outside, and there is lots of blue sky.

You know what comes next, don’t you?

As soon as you get far enough from home that you don’t have time to turn around, ditch the bike and take the Metro . . . it starts to rain.

But there’s more to this.

  • You stop at a bus shelter, swap the jumper for the raincoat, and pull on the waterproof trousers.
  • Set off again at a leisurely enough pace so as definitely not get sweaty while riding in this plastic bag outfit.

You know what comes next, don’t you?

It stops raining within about five minutes. But the sky looks like it wants to start again for the whole of the rest of the journey. And all the way, the sun beats down on your black waterproofs.

Bah. I hate April bastard showers.
