Cold Springtime Run

It’s that time of year again - April is the cruelest month. It looks like summer; it sounds like summer; it even smells like summer.

But it’s not.

This morning was one such morning. Bright, bright sunlight, coupled with a wind straight from the Arctic circle. The trouble was that I’d got dressed to cope with what the weather looked like, not what it felt like - shorts & a long sleeved top, rather than fleecy tights and a couple of layers on top.

To make matters even more "enlivening", my route was five miles into the wind before turning for home. After forty minutes, I couldn’t feel my face. I had to stop to ‘water the countryside’ at one point, and I would have welcomed being arrested for exposing myself - at least the inside of the police van would have been warm! The trouble was, with this damned cold wind, I was chilled to the bone, so there was precious little to expose.

Too much information for you? I’d appologise, but that’s just the way it is here. :-/

Know how you feel. Lucky where i am it does not get that cold often at all. It’s just not fun when its cold. Frozen hands are the worst. At least the weather can only improve.
