Giving The Lifeguards Something To Laugh At

I’ve been slacking off my swimming recently - not good as it’s the discipline that I, like many triathletes, have the most worries about. I think I’ve moved well past the point where failing to meet the cut-off (2h15m for the 3800m course) is a realistic possibility . . . but all the same I want to be confident about hitting my target time, and get out of the water fresh as a daisy & ready to cycle 100 miles up a mountain & back.

So today I managed to get to the pool for a lunchtime dip. And with my highly attractive sunburn, managed to give the lifeguards something to laugh about. It actually looks a whole lot worse than it feels now . . . though those hot (fixed-temperature) showers afterwards were anything but fun!

Ouch! Not something you’d want on a sunburn!
Good you got a swim in. Where there’s a will there’s a way.
