You Wait Ages For An iPhone App…

… then three com along at once.

Obviously by now you’ve downloaded the Bike Hub app

… but there’s also the CycleStreets one that uses the same map data (though I’ve found this app a little less stable)…

And now there’s also the Fill That Hole app from CTC - with this you can photograph & report / bag’n'tag potholes and other road hazards to the local council responsible for the upkeep of the particular road you’re on. You pay your council tax, income tax, VAT, VED, fuel duty, corporation tax, stamp duty, and beer duty (all collectively a.k.a. Road Tax), so you have the right to expect non-lethal road surfaces:

This last one has left me wondering what impact it’ll have on the number of Fill That Hole reports generated. By making it easier to locate, photograph, identify and upload problems with the roads, are local councils about to be deluged with demands for action?
