In The Future…

We’ll all live in cities in the sky…

… doors will open automatically …

… people will drive electric cars …

… wear synthetic, yet practical clothing…

… and the public transport system will be big on monorails …

Actually, when I put it like that, it looks like:

1. The future’s here already
2. The future’s a whole lot crappier than we’d been led to believe.

And actually, what I really want to know is, where’s my promised monorail?

What’s that you say? You have it ready for me, and you think I’ll like it?

Maybe. But cycling in a mobile greenhouse looks a bit sweaty for the journey to work, especially if I have to wear one of those synthetic suits. And will there be a station right outside my front door, or better still can I get into my pod while still inside my flat on the 27th floor of Victory Towers?
