Friday Caption Contest - Lifeguard Edition
Depending on which page of the papers you read, you could believe that we’re either in the midst of a cycling boom akin to that of the 1880s, or on the edge of a disaster.
Sadly, I think it’s the latter - with Cycle England’s demise, and an apparent return to the Good Old Days of Predict & Provide road-building policy leaking out of the comprehensive spending review, I really don’t think things look good. I see wall-to-wall coverage of Boris Bikes, autumn cycle chic, and local cycle campaigns a-plenty, but I can’t help thinking this is a not waving but drowning moment.
All of which brings us cheerfully to this week’s caption contest photo. To win this week’s prize, all you have to do is explain just what on earth is going on here:
This week’s [virtual] prize is one that’s certainly worth having too - the chance to bike your way to a cleaner life.
Good luck!

washed?
