And A New Name?

I rode the Brompton to a couple of client meetings again today. It seems to attract attention - everyone wants to see how it folds / unfolds. At Glenton’s Bakery they came up with what I think could well be the perfect name for a Brompton:

Little Nellie!

Actually, every since I saw You Only Live Twice as a child, I wanted to learn to fly a gyrocopter, and the Brompton certainly has something of Q-Branch about it.

But . . . It’s the wrong colour.

AND, I’m fairly sure that he (the Brompton) is a dalmatian bike . . . more on this later.

It’s quite unnerving at times, as people will often stop & watch you unfold/fold it.

(If you want to impress, make sure the handlebar clip turns freely. Then with the bike parked, undo both frame and steerer clamps, and fold in one motion, allowing gravity to take the handlebars into the clip, the onlookers love that one).

Little Nellie is a great name, and far better than “The Clown Bike” which is what Mrs Monkey calls mine.
