Whitley Bay In Regular Clothes

Number One - the vicar who lives around the corner:

  • Shirt & dog-collar? Check!
  • Appropriately summery jacket? Check!
  • Ordinary trousers? Check!
  • Sandals? Check!
    • Sandals without socks? Fail! Obviously a foreigner or some sort of degenerate leftie.
  • Helmet worn as an ironic fashion accessory rather than to actually do anything? Check!
  • Sensible bike? Check!
  • Bag hanging from handle bars? Check!

    I can’t compete.

I normally wear trainers and jeans with my shirt and dog collar :-)

Ahh…we have one here in West London who rides his bike in full beard, dog collar and the clergyman dress thing (can’t think of the name for it).
How about that for a holy competition? :)

Na, can’t be a real foreigner, people come from places with a bicycle culture don’t have plastic hats. In places without a bicycle culture, cycle helmets are magical talismans so the very fact that put one on yer bonce will protect you from all harm…

    Dave, Angi - Photos please!

Kim - No, he’s wearing it as an ironic statement on the state of British transport policy. Hence the chin strap being done up, but dangling half way down his chest. It represents the apparently sensible policies that you see from the top, which are revealed to be completely useless when you get further down.
