How Our City Bike Project Spawned A Formula-One Car

This is a nice idea - take the technology of something like the Toyota Prius, and see how it would affect what you could do when building a bike:

The trouble is that the end result is nothing like a city bike - it seems amazingly impractical and uses a boat load of technology that’s going to really love being left out in the street on a rainy day.

And another thing. If the Prius is all about efficiency and low usage of natural resources, then surely Toyota should be trying to copy the technology that’s been powering bikes all these years. When a Prius runs on flapjacks and cake - that would be a proper technological innovation.

Oh, but wait - hasn’t that been around for years?

I mean, sure, people are going to laugh at you. But people will laugh at you for driving a Prius too.
