An Unexpected Tailwind…

I knew the ride to work today was going to be WET. But an unexpected tailwind made it surprisingly fun - at one point I passed Rich Rothwell going in the opposite direction. He was going downhill but tucked down and straining into the wind on some svelte road bike. Meanwhile I was sitting bolt upright on Siegfied and sailing along like a clipper before a typhoon. Probably the only time I’ll ever out-pace him!

It felt like I was riding along and singin’ in the rain - just like Paddington Bear:

When I arrived at work though, I found that my waterproofs really hadn’t been up to the job - I was more like Eric Morcambe in this version of the song:

Fortunately I’d packed a complete change of clothes, so didn’t have to sit there squelching all day…
