. . . check out this great video, which is part of the Fat Cyclist’s 100 Miles of Nowhere challenge:
That looks tougher than I have words to describe. But it’s all in a good cause. If you watched the film, go and make a donation now.

Speaking of Guinness . . .
Lunch with Mr Grundy et al.
Just a short post here - I started a new job this week, so things have been (& still are) rather hectic over the last ten days or so.
But today I went down to That London for the Pickwick Bicycle Club’s President’s Luncheon, as a guest of Carlton Reid, author of the Family Cycling...

As Fat Freddy Would Say

Roadside Repairs
My first car was a white 1962 Morris Minor. Actually, that’s not strictly true - before that I drove my mum’s 1966 one, and her 1972 van, which we took to the Reading Festival one year. All had ‘A Series’ engines, and I could strip them down to the con-rods & rebuild them with...

Xtracycles? They’re For Lightweights!
(n.b. That’s a tongue in cheek title. We love Xtracycles.)
ANYWAY, having made that clear, take a look at this, which I found via the Bicycle Diaries:
Until the punchline, I thought it was going to be an advert from some lunatic “we’ve got a big enough army not to need to worry about any so-called...

There’s some switch inside our brains that...

Perfect For a Chap’s Bike
Von SmallHaussen and I are already starting to plan for this year’s Dunwich Dynamo. It’s a 120 mile overnight ride from Darkest Hackney in London to Dunwich on the Suffolk coast.
This year’s is on the evening of the 4th July, and we’ll be doing it in style on Daisy, accompanied by Algernond, Doktor Seth,...

Fix, Burn, and Kiss The Carpet.
OK - a bit of a departure now from all that cycling in tweed I’ve been writing about of late.
Fixed gear bikes.
Yes I have one, and yes it’s lots and lots and lots of fun. I don’t know why.
It. Just. Is.
There’s just something about it that wires up my brain differently, and makes everything...

I DO Stop At Red, But …
Big day to day on Siegfried - dropping in to see Carlton Reid (excellent coffee - thank you!) on my way to the Team Valley, then across to a meeting near the Metro Centre, before heading home. In all, around 30-35 miles, and some ‘challenging’ hills.
The last of these was on my route home...
